When I was 10, my Dad gave me my first camera – Smena Symbol – aviewfinder35mm filmcamera made byLOMO with a fixed 40mm f/4 lens.
Almost 40 years later, there is a “new” concept of a camera that is mirrorless, has a full frame sensor, and a fixed lens:
- Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1
- Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1R II
- Leica Q (Typ 116)
- Leica Q2
- Zeiss ZX1
These cameras do not belong to the traditional compact point and shoot market, because they are full frame. Also they do not belong to the established full frame ILC market, because they have a fixed lens.
The natural inclination is to think about those cameras as an evolution of popular cropped sensor fixed lens compact cameras:
- Ricoh GR III
- Fujifilm X100V
- Panasonic Lumix DC-LX100 II
- Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III
- Sigma dp0 Quattro
