Growing up, Samurai Jack was one of my favorite cartoons, Genndy Tartakovsky combined a compelling narrative with almost non-stop, high-pace action that captivated me as a child and as an adult.
Which made subscribing to the new Samurai Jack series, published by IDW, a no-brainer. And the first two issues have not disappointed. Andy Suriano, who worked on the television show, has done a great job of bringing Samurai Jack’s flowing motion to the book, and the art style mimics that of the show. Issue #1 could have easily been a TV episode, while issue #2 was a forgettable but entertaining entry into Samurai Jack lore.
