From Kanazawa we caught a 2-hour shinkansen ride to the city that was previously Japan’s capital for over 1000 years, Kyoto. We wanted to have a little bit of a change in experience for accommodation this time around and tried out a capsule hotel. For those of you who don’t know what it is, think of it like a hostel but instead of the typical bunk bed share room there is a hall full of tiny bed-sized rooms. I know I know it sounds weird but trust me it was pretty sweet; centurion hotel even had tv’s inside their capsules.
