I took a day off from all the heavy gardening I’ve been doing to go to Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve Park, taking with me my Canon camera and 100-400mm lens. Most of what I shot ended up in the trash bin. This wildlife photography is a whole different ballgame compared to that of landscape photography. I have to train my brain to think differently and then to automatically react radically different from when I am shooting landscape. I intend to get to the place I just make camera setting adjustments without thinking, just like I do now with landscape and macro shooting. Huge learning curve going on here!

The camera I am using is not made for wildlife shooting. I found that out in spades trying everything I knew how to do (and not succeeding too well) to get my camera/lens…
