There’s a First Class cabin on the 747?
Qantas has just one remaining 747 that operates a First Class cabin, although “First Class” is perhaps a bit of a loose term, and it is actually sold as Business Class on regular Qantas flights. The area I’m talking about is the first four rows of the lower deck, which have maintained an ancient First Class product until a refurbishment last year (2017) so a charter company could market these seats as First Class and probably charge a premium.
Because this area of the Business Cabin is arguably the nicest, Qantas typically reserves it for its top tier Platinum customers – that’s why I call it Platinum Plaza. Having said that, it is possible to snag a seat in this cabin (tips coming soon) and it is VERY MUCH worth the effort trying, as this cabin is a big step up…
