Thailand to Laos: Sleeper Train & Scams

One of the roads less taken, the rail tracks bound to the northernmost part of Thailand has been one of the pleasing experiences you can gain in your trip to Indochina.

Planning to visit Laos has been one of the most challenging part of the adventure. First, it consumes too much time, second, it’s really costly and third, including Vientiane in the itinerary will smush the schedule. But we did our best to fit it in.

On our third day in Bangkok, we took a cab from Khaosan Rd. to Hua Lamphong station early in the morning to have our bunks reserved. Since there are 4 of us we all purchased two upper bunks and two lower bunks, split the total cost into four because we’re planning to stay only on the lower bunks since it could fit two people.
