Spirited Away in Jiufen, Taiwan

Taiwan, being a quick 2-3 hour plane ride from Tokyo, had been on my to-do list for a long time. Of course I was excited by the food, and I wanted to check out some of the tourist locations, but if I’m honest… I had always wanted to visit for the reason myself and many other Ghibli fans want to; a day-trip would bring you to Jiufen, a town said to be the inspiration of Hayao Miyazaki’s film, Spirited Away.

Although a visit during the day may also be nice, I personally enjoyed visiting at night.
