8 tips to help cope with Stress

The focus for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is around Stress.

I reckon I must hear the word “stressed” multiple times a day and that’s not that surprising because modern life can be stressful; work, finance, lifestyle, health, commitments, relationships, families, goals and ambitions, fitness, social time – there’s a lot we’re all usually trying to balance and fit in and that doesn’t really account for any bumps in the road or unforeseen circumstances that life can throw at you.

So it’s not surprising really almost 3/4 of people in the UK have at some point felt so stressed they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope. I find that statistic quite alarming. While “stress” isn’t strictly a mental health problem as such, it certainly has an impact on mental health and can even induce, or lead to, other mental health problems.
