
After getting up early we left Tromsø at about 8:15 this morning as the drive to Svolvær on the Lofoten islands is 420km, which means about 6-8hours (90km max.) depending on how often you stop along the way. The drive was beautiful as you can see on the pictures below.
In Svolvær we stay at the Scandic Hotel, right at the harbor. We got lucky and also have a room looking at the harbor. After checking in and getting our stuff upstairs to the room we went out to explore the city. Its small but cute and there are a few places to grab something to eat and also to get done some shopping if needed.
Dinner was pizza with a view onto the harbor and an arriving Hurtigruten ship. As the aurora forecasts said today should be the day to get a chance to the nothern lights we went…
