Will.i.Am … Will.i.Watch?

Will.I.Am has announced he will be releasing his own smartwatch in July. What is really interesting is that he claims that the watch doesn’t need to be paired with a phone to work… Meaning Will.i.Am is offering us a smartphone replacement – on our wrists. Albeit that the prototype looks ‘Funky Fresh’, we are struggling to understand his strategy. Surely, the Will.i.Watch can’t work on iOS or Android Wear… So how will I begin to integrate it with my contacts, music, apps, photos ect..?

I can’t see space in the market for another operating system and it would seem thats exactly what Will.i.Am is offering us. He has decided to take on two of the largest electronic companies in the world (rather than work with them) and I think he may begin to regret this when his next album isn’t available on iTunes…… Nevertheless, Best of luck to him!
